Dan Tiezzi & Sons Builders LLC Testimonials

When we decided to remodel our kitchen, we started with the Kitchen Design Center at Lyon & Billard. Dale Murdock provided us with a great design that opened up our kitchen and provided more light. We had a general contractor all lined up, but after three months of planning, he decided he could not do the work. Dale suggested we contact Dan Tiezzi, and are we ever glad we did!

Our first impression of Dan was that he knows his craft. He is full of suggestions. For example, our kitchen is open to a living area, and there is a hallway from the front door to the kitchen. We had a difficult time deciding what type of flooring to use. We wanted durability in the hall and kitchen and warmth in the living area. Dan suggested tile in the hall and kitchen and hardwood in the living area. We went with his recommendation and are completely happy with the way it came out.

Because of the weight, Dan suggested we add a support beam in the basement under the island. This will help prevent the floor from sagging under the weight of the granite. We never would have thought about doing this, and it’s another example of Dan’s experience.

He chalked out the kitchen layout on the subflooring. At his suggestion, we reduced the size of the island in order to make the traffic pattern around it more efficient. Throughout the project, he made suggestions about lighting, the pattern for the tile floor, and even our windowsill. His ability to combine design with functionality is one of his greatest strengths.

The quality of the work done by Dan as well as his subcontractors was top notch. His attention to detail was greatly appreciated. We ended up with a kitchen that was so much more than we envisioned.

There were other things we were so pleased about. Dan kept us informed not only of his schedule, but also his subcontractors’ schedules. In addition, Dan was incredibly neat. He cleaned up every day and was respectful of the fact that we were still living in our home as the renovation was happening. He also has a way of explaining things in plain English and this helped us to understand what was going on and why.

Things often have a way of working out for the best.  This was the case with working with Dan. We are sure that he will be our first choice the next time we have a renovation project. Thank you, Dan, and well done!

Building our addition was one of our biggest investments. Signing with a builder was a big commitment. Although Dan Tiezzi was highly recommended, we researched several builders before deciding to commit to Dan because we knew that the builder considerably impacts the project outcome. We chose Dan for our project because he was the most knowledgeable builder and he gave the most professional, detailed, clearly written plans and estimates. Building is an exciting time, but making important decisions can be stressful, so having a knowledgeable, straightforward, patient builder like Dan Tiezzi, it made our project easier. His guidance throughout the project made planning and completion run smoothly.

Dan was helpful in choosing the materials, finishes, and making recommendations. He was reliable, always showing up on time and our project was completed in the time frame he predicted. He returned telephone calls quickly and communicated with us throughout the project. Dan worked with our town building department, attained all approvals and permits, and made sure our project met the building codes in our town.

All of Dan’s work was on the custom level. He was able to custom build our gas fireplace fitting and added the natural wood trim work and molding to our addition. This project showed his talent with woodworking and demonstrated that he is a fine artisan who pays attention to every detail.
During the project, neighbors were so impressed with Dan’s consistency and the well maintained worksite. Many of our neighbors have commented on the excellent workmanship and some have used Dan for their building projects.

Most importantly, our finished project is well built, solid construction. Dan made our dream a reality. He was supportive and effective from the start, helping us to get our house plans completed to the very end. We are impressed with Dan’s professionalism and knowledge that was presented and carried out. The quality construction and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. Dan is a conscientious, ethical, honest, highly recommended builder who possesses pride in his workmanship from the foundation up.

Dan Tiezzi & Sons Builders, LLC is the result of an incredibly positive experience we had with Dan. In August, we had Dan remove the roof of our one-story ranch and build a second floor. This project included three bedrooms, two bathrooms, reversal of the stairs, a chimney extension, paint, carpet, tile, and a new detached two car garage. The exterior was also included with siding, gutters, and downspouts.

Every step, from the permits to the site planning, to the execution of the works itself, to the final cleanup was performed with speed, accuracy, and the utmost professionalism.

In just four short months, we were enjoying our new home for Thanksgiving and we have DanTiezzi & Sons to thank! We highly recommend them for any projects you may have.

It is not often that someone decides to change their living space or has the considerable sum of money needed to do so, however, when the time does come and the resources become available how do you go about finding what you need to make those changes happen? We decided to investigate work that had been done in our neighborhood that we admire. Our neighbors blew the top off their house and added a second story. The outcome could have looked like two houses stuck together; instead it looks as if it has always been the way it is. This is no easy feat.

After getting some plans done up by an architect, we decided to speak to Dan (Tiezzi). From our initial conversations it became apparent that Dan was the man to do the job we wanted. Besides being personable, he was not shy about sharing concerns about the plans and offering his own comments from a builder’s perspective. We believe this to be invaluable. Just because something sounds good or looks good on paper doesn’t mean it will come off trouble free in its realization. Believe me, there is always something. Dan is truly interested in what he does, he makes the job like his own and the quality of the work shows. Dan worked with us on a “First” renovation of our home…taking it from start to finish. His skills as a communicator are great! He is honest and does not try to sugar things over. We had waited and saved for 23 years to update and improve our home. Considerable thought went into it, but you still need a builder’s expertise to explain and make sure things are done to code or better. I finally had the kitchen of my dreams. Never once did Dan leave at the end of the day without cleaning up and touching base with us.

Not too long after, the opportunity to expand presented itself and we knew immediately who we needed to call. Once again Dan was able to assist us in making our home great. Everything from major structural demolition to the fine finishing of crown moldings was overseen and/or accomplished by Dan. The addition of a new garage space and huge master bedroom was realized.

I have recommended Dan to several friends who needed work done and once again he is working in our neighborhood doing what he does best… good work. Dan really is one of those rare finds; honest and straightforward, punctual, hardworking, tidy, friendly but tenacious with his subcontractors (a good trait!)…and has a great sense of humor! Oh the look on his face (thank goodness I didn’t hear what came out of his mouth) when he found out they backed that cement mixer up to exactly where he told them not to…and they got stuck up to the axles not once but three times!

Our home is a family home not just a house…our family has lived here for 80 years. My grandfather built the house with his own two hands. One inspector told us it was built like a fort. That is not something you want to diminish with shoddy workmanship. I know my grandfather would have liked and respected Dan and his workmanship and that says a lot.

Seriously, if you are thinking about doing work on your home, large or small, major reno or quick fix…do your homework…and talk to Dan.

When my husband and I decided to renovate an older commercial building and convert it into a restaurant, it was without question that we were going to use Dan Tiezzi for the project. Dan had already renovated a home that we purchased and added on a 2000 square foot addition. Being that it was a timber frame post and beam design, Dan consulted with us to ensure the house would have a very open and natural flow. His attention to detail and his expert craftsmanship turned that property into the home of our dreams.

The restaurant had its many challenges due to health codes, town regulations, and liquor license requirements. Dan was thorough in his preparation of the project and with all the dealings with the proper authorities and subcontractors. He worked diligently to meet our time frame and budget for the opening yet maintained the highest quality of work with each and every step.
We had decided to expose and maintain the original beams and arch work that existed in the building to have an “old pub” style look and feel. In that, Dan went to great efforts to accommodate our wishes. Not only were my husband and I elated at the outcome of the project, the majority of our patrons make a point to compliment the design and feel of the restaurant.

There is no doubt in our minds, that we would recommend and/or contract Dan for another project. If you want a builder with talent, tenacity and great integrity….do not hesitate, call Dan Tiezzi.
